Rough & Tumble!

CRASH!

A hectic day saw two more crashes on the road, and plent of controversy....
GAN kept the race together which meant that Chris Boardman's teamate Cederic Vasseur
held on to the Yellow Jersey for another day!

A mass bunch sprint was initially won by Erik Zabel, but he was later disqualified for
"Violent Sprinting", a polite description of head butting Fred Moncassin during the
sprint. Tom Steels was banned from the race for throwing a bottle in anger at Mario
Traversoni during the mele!

News followed later that Abdujaparov had been tested positive for two banned substances
and banned from the race...the Loto doctor was later sacked!
Evgeny Berzin was another big name to pull out, due to a fractured collar bone, caused
by one of the many crashes, even though he finished the stage.

Chris finished in 26th place, holding on to his 4th overall, despite coming down in
a crash near the end of the stage.

The revised result after Zabel was moved to last place on the stage and Abdujaparov
was banned was as follows...
