A presigious finish in Bordeaux saw the top (remaining) sprinters teams keeping
the pressure on for a final sprint finish. Cipollini pulled out today suffering
with a sore knee, caused by a crash the previous day. Erik Zabel made light work of
the finish with potential Tour winner Riis leading him out.
Chris made sure he was near the front of the pack during the approach to Bordeaux,
and avoided yet another crash which saw Virenque, Brochard and Pantani loosing 50secs
to the leaders. It seems that this years Tour will be decided on who avoids the
crashes and who is unlucky. With Zulle, Berzin, Gotti, and Rominger all out, Chris
must be hoping he has no bad luck as a good overall result looks on the cards.
Cedric Vasseur is still in yellow for GAN, and moral in the squad is high.
The Real test for Chris will come tomorrow and Tuesday, the mountains are just around
the corner and the real race is about to begin.
